The boys and girls cross country teams were at Freedom Park in Greenwood yesterday, running against Greenwood and Clark Pleasant on an unseasonably warm day.

The girls team battled through some adversity with the heat, claiming 2nd place overall, and missing the top spot by only 13 points. Despite the heat, Phoebe Dowty claimed first place overall, with a time of 13:21, and 36 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. Ella Taylor ran a great race as well, placing 3rd overall with a time of 14:31. The 5th grade girls ran strong, with Libby Dowty leading the way for them in 10th place overall, with a time of 14:48. Gracie Werden came in on her heels, placing 11th in 15:10. Lilly Swanson powered through her tough race, placing 14th in 15:38, and rounding out the ribbon winners for the IC girls.
