The Indian Creek Braves improved to 3-2 on the 2019 campaign with a win over Triton Central on Friday night by the score of 21-13. It was a defensive battle all night with the Braves having just enough Offense to secure the victory. The Creek defense came to play, especially on 3rd and 4th Downs, only allowing 2-16 conversions all night. The scoring kicked off with a TD pass from Roman Purcell to Owen Neathery to make the score 7-0 early in the first quarter. Indian Creek proceeded to score once more in the third quarter and again in the fourth to stretch the led to 21-0. That was when Triton Central’s woke up, scoring twice within the last 5 minutes of the game. It was the Braves first victory over their non-conference opponent since 2011.
The Braves return to WIC play this week when they play host to the 5-0 Edgewood Mustangs. It is Homecoming at the Creek with kick-off slated for 7:00 pm.
