Edinburgh High School
The Indian Creek Braves Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Edinburgh and captured a 17-1 victory on Monday.
With 10 runs in the first three innings, the Indian Creek Braves Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Cheyenne Moneymaker, a two-run triple by Kasey Wilhoit, and a two-run single by Sydney Williams in the second inning fueled the Indian Creek Braves Varsity’s offense early.
Dori Knight shut down Edinburgh while she was on the mound. Edinburgh managed just one hit off of Knight, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during her four innings of work.
The Braves piled on five more runs in the top of the third. A error scored Rachel Kyle for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Wilhoit’s single, scoring Moneymaker and Zoey Gatton. IC increased their lead with six runs in the fifth. A double by Macy Ashley ignited the offense, plating Wilhoit. That was followed up by Williams’ double, scoring Ashley.
Wilhoit racked up three RBIs on four hits, Moneymaker had 3 RBIs on 2 hits and Williams had 4 RBIs on 3 hits.
The Braves are now 7-2 overall, 5-1 in conference.
