Multiple Teams · Athletes of the Week

This week we are hightlighting Boys and Girls Cross Country runners Brady Devine and Emma Russell.

Brady is a senior on this year’s Boys Cross Country team, and the son of Daniel and Jennifer Devine. He has three older sisters, Morgan (23), Kelsey (21), and Sydney (19), all who have ran Cross Country and/or Track at Indian Creek. He has lettered in Cross Country in all 3 years of High School, and is running as Indian Creek’s #1 runner this fall. He was apart of the Semi-State Qualifying teams in both 2011 and 2012, as a Sophomore and Junior. Devine has been named to All-Conference 3 times, and the All-County twice. He has improved tremedously since last year, as he has posted some of his best times, after taking over as the Braves #1 runner. Devine’s goals for the season are still in tact as he works towards breaking the school record and making it to the State Meet! Devine and the rest of the Cross Country team are back at it this Saturday, September 21st at Northview Christian Church for the Flashrock Invitation at 9:30 am.

Even as a first-year runner, Russell finished the season qualifying individually for the Regionals down at Brown County just missing the Semi-State cut. Emma is continuing to build on last year’s success, and she works hard towards her season goal of breaking the 20 minute mark. Like Devine, Russell is the Lady Braves #1 runner, and has been guiding the Braves through each of the first couple meets.
