Boys Middle School Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Athlete of the Week: Elliott Van Hoy

This week we bring you from Boys Tennis: Senior Elliott Van Hoy

Elliott is the son of Brian and Kirsten Van Hoy, and brother to Ethan and Sarah Van Hoy. Elliott enters his senior year playing #1 doubles with sophomore Brett Maulden. In the teams first match against new conference foe Knightstown, Van Hoy and Maulden defeated the Panthers’ #1 Doubles team 7-5; 6-4. Overall, the team defeated Knightstown 5-0, earning their first win of the season, as well as starting off 1-0 in the conference. Elliott got involved with the game tennis because of the competitive aspect of the sport, saying “there’s so much to learn, and you can see yourself improve every day.” Elliott’s goal for the season is to finish with a winning record, and the team hopes to be crowned Mid-Hoosier Conference Champions once again. Van Hoy and the Braves are back in action tonight (Thursday) at Martinsville beginning at 4:30 PM.
